
Commercial
Litigation:
Mr. Leal has over twenty four years experience in the prosecution
and defense of complex civil actions in state and federal trial
courts with an emphasis on commercial contract, franchise, trade
secret, environmental and antitrust claims, along with other commercial
tort, collection and professional liability disputes.
As
a federal prosecutor, Mr. Leal participated in the litigation and
trial of several major antitrust prosecutions including United
States v. AT&T and United States v. California Rice Growers
Association.
Mr.
Leal has individually tried numerous civil and criminal jury and
bench trials to verdict, successfully prosecuted, defended and settled
scores of civil matters by means of pretrial motions, mediation,
judicial and binding arbitration and has briefed and argued appeals
in California's appellate courts as well as in the United States
Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Property
and Liability Litigation:
As plaintiff's and defense counsel, Mr. Leal has represented a variety
of clients and insureds, as well as government entities, in matters
involving premises liability, civil rights, environmental, employment
discrimination, sexual harassment, personal injury and property
damage claims.
Antitrust
Counsel:
Mr. Leal has been retained by other litigation and patent firms
to provide research and analysis of the antitrust issues in commercial
contract and intellectual property matters.
Mediator:
Mr. Leal has been retained and now offers his professional litigation
expertise in the mediation of commercial contract and civil liability
disputes.
